Ghana get Ivorian referee Desire for crucial Mali game

Ivorian Doué Noumandiez Desire has been appointed the center referee for the Ghana’s game against Mali on Thursday.

The 42-year-old will be the man in the center and will be assisted by his compatriot Zakhele Thusi Siwela together with Jean-Claude Birumushahu from Burundi, while Algeria’s Mohamed Benouza will be the fourth official.

Desire, a pharmacist by profession comes in with a high pedigree haven officiated 29 official CAF matches since taking up refereeing in 2004.

He has dished out 125 yellow cards, 7 red cards – 3 of which were straight red.

The Ivorian is one of a few African’s on the 52-man shortlist to officiate at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
