Thomas Partey produced a masi to storm to the top of Group I in the Africa 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Arsenal midfielder was seen by many as the Man of the Match after dominating proceedings in a performance that highlighted just how crucial he is to the Black Stars’ ambitions of reaching another World Cup.

Partey, 30, dictated the tempo from the heart of midfield, completing 98 passes - more than any other player on the pitch - at an impressive 89% accuracy.

He also recorded a game-high 107 touches and was instrumental in transitioning play, delivering 17 passes into the final third.

Beyond his distribution, Partey was tenacious in defence, winning 100% of his tackles and recovering the ball four times.

He created four chances, completed five successful dribbles, and won three ground duels in an all-action display.

His presence gave the Black Stars a platform to attack with fluidity and confidence, resulting in a dominant display that sent a strong message to their group rivals.

Ghana now sit top of Group I, edging ahead of Madagascar on goal difference.  The two sides face off on Monday in a top-of-the-table clash that could prove pivotal in the race for qualification.

If Partey maintains this level of performance, Ghana’s hopes of reaching the 2026 World Cup will only grow stronger.
