Ghana's second-choice goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi will hope for brighter fortune at French Ligue 2 side Sochaux Montbéliard following the appointment of former Senegal star Omar Daf as head coach.

The former Senegal international defender Omar Daf has been appointed as head coach of struggling French second tier club Sochaux.

Daf, who played 14 seasons for Sochaux across two spells, previously managed the club in an interim capacity in 2013 and 2015.

Sochaux confirmed he had been given the role following the departure of José Manuel Aira.

Ghana goalkeeper Ati-Zigi will hope for a better fortune with the side after largely playing second-fiddle to Maxence Prévôt.

The 21-year-old custodian has only featured just seven times for the Stade Auguste Bonal outfit since joining from Red Bull Salzburg in 2017.

Daf will take full charge of training at Sochaux on Monday.
