Ghana international goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad kicked off his Ethiopian adventure on a positive note, securing a clean sheet in his debut match for Ethiopian Coffee SC in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old was handed his first start in the posts as Coffee were held by Ethio Electric in a goalless draw on Thursday.
This marks a promising start for the young goalkeeper who recently joined the club after departing the Ghanaian scene.
Danlad boasts an impressive track record. He served as vice-captain of Ghana's U20 team in 2021, leading them to victory in both the WAFU Zone B Cup and the Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
He had previously been the number one for the Ghana team at the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup in India.
Ibrahim was also the first choice goalkeeper for the Ghana team during the 2022 CHAN tournament in Algeria.
He made his mark with Asante Kotoko SC, helping them win the Ghana Premier League and eventually becoming captain.
However, after cutting ties with the Ghanaian giants at the end of last season, he opted for a fresh challenge in Ethiopia.
His clean sheet in the first game signifies his determination to prove himself again.
