Normalisation Committee president Dr Kofi Amoah revealed on Tuesday that the ruling New Patriotic Party will fund the three-month competition, but fell short of revealing the total figure involved.
The interim Ghana FA body has succumbed to mounting pressure to restore local football after revealing the financial package for the special competition expected to start on January 26.
The committee met 16 Premier League and 48 Division One club at the Ghana Football Association on Tuesday to predominantly roll out modalities and the financial reward.
Normalisation Committee president Dr Kofi Amoah revealed the source of funding for the competition after persistent demands by the club.
"This competition is being funded by the Government of Ghana." he said
The interim competition has become necessary following the halt of local football in the West African nation in the wake of an explosive investigative piece by controversial journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in June last year.
