Berekum Chelsea striker Nana Poku’s intended move to Egyptian club Al Ittihad has fallen through, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The deal collapsed due to Chelsea’s failure to send the 23-year-old’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) on time for the completion of his registration.

Chelsea was believed to be reluctant to send the ITC because it wanted to take full delivery of the undisclosed transfer free from Ittihad, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.

The Egyptian club will however not demand refunds of monies given to the player as honorarium believed to be in the region of $20,000.

Poku joined Chelsea in the offseason after emerging the league’s top goal scorer in the last campaign with sixteen (16) goals while with Berekum Arsenals.

He will thus revert to the champions who fortunately have registered him for the upcoming league season.

Chelsea however declined to comment on the issue when contacted by GHANAsoccernet.com.
