Ghana legend Malik Jabir confirms he has applied for GFA technical director job

Former Ghana and Asante Kotoko coach Malik Jabir is the first person to confirm applying for the vacant Ghana Football Association (GFA) technical director job.

The position has become vacant following the departure of coach Oti Akenteng at the end of last month.

Akenteng, who was appointed acting technical director of the association in 2009, was handed a letter last month, notifying him of the FA’s decision not to extend his tenure at the directorate.

And Malik Jabir, also a former Ghana international, believes he has what it takes to do a good job if he is handed the job.

” I have applied for the Ghana Football Association technical director role. With my experience in football and coaching, I think I am capable of doing a good job for there,” he told Ashh FM.

He has experience of working abroad having coached ASFA Yennega in Burkina Faso and was once a technical advisor for Nigerian club Kano Pillars.
