Legend Mohammed Polo is unhappy with the appointment of FC Cologne assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko as one of Ghana's scouts for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

Tanko is one of three scouts who have been hired to monitor opponents of the Black Stars at the finals in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Polo claims the work schedule of the ex-Black Stars striker with his German Bundesliga outfit will make it impossible for him to

"It’s a point that needs to be explained why Alhaji Tanko. Is it because he’s working with a Bundesliga side," Polo questioned.

''His time is not that conducive for him and he's given chance to monitor other teams when there are equally good coaches or technical men who can do that job.

"He has to sit somewhere for us to see those who can do it and do it properly. But unfortunately if they think he’s the best person I don't have anything to say.

“But I think it was a wrong move. Once he’s busy doing his work somewhere, you may be loading him with certain things."

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic has employed a video analyst who has been assisting in his tactical preparations for matches.

Ghana open their campaign against Botswana on 24 January in Franceville before playing Guinea and Mali in Group D.
