Ghana maintained their 46th position on the FIFA ranking for March as the table remained almost static thanks to the suspension of global football activities.
The Black Stars and all the other national teams in the world could not play in March because of the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic that has brought football to a standstill.
The ongoing measures to combat the spread of Covid-19 have resulted in little football of late and, consequently, next-to-no movement in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.
This means Ghana could not move up or down leaving the country in the same position it occupied on the global and continental ranking.
The Black Stars were scheduled to face Sudan in back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers that could have impacted on the country's ranking.
Ghana were not involved in any football activity in the previous month, hence maintained their accumulated points which are 1439 anf 46th position in the world.
The four-time champions of Africa maintained their 6th position on the continent.
The top five ranked in the FIFA ranking on the African continent are Senegal, Tunisia, Nigeria, Algeria and Morocco in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th positions, respectively.
Ghana are not the only country from number 1 to number 50 who did moved up or down on the FIFA ranking for March.
This means the three stayed the same, with Brazil at No. 3, 2018 World Cup winners France at No. 2, and Belgium at No. 1.
A whole raft of international fixtures, including qualifiers for the FIFA World Cupâ„¢ and other major tournaments, were postponed, while dates were redrawn for showpiece men’s events such as the Olympic Football Tournament, CONMEBOL Copa America and UEFA EURO.
Amid this upheaval, the Ranking was impacted by just four matches - all friendlies - and, as such, remains all but identical to the previous edition.
The solitary change sees South Sudan move into joint-168th position with Bermuda after the latter dropped a Ranking point thanks to a 2-0 defeat in Jamaica (48th, unchanged) on 11 March.
The five other teams involved in friendly matches since the global ladder’s last update were Panama (played twice – 81st, unchanged), Uzbekistan (85th, unchanged), Belarus (87th, unchanged), Guatemala (130th, unchanged) and Nicaragua (151st, unchanged).
