Ghana makes three changes to face Zambia - Boateng, Addy, Jordan in

Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng will make his first start at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday when they take on Zambia in the semi-finals.

Sulley Muntari has been axed from the starting line-up and in his place has been taken by Jordan Ayew.

The Marseille player was impressive when he came on as a substitute in the game against Tunisia which seems to have convinced the coach Goran Stevanovic.

Also making his first start of the competition is Lee Addy who will play in the left back position ahead of Masahudu Alhassan.

The Ukraine-based Boateng was named in the starting line to replace the injured Emmanuel Agyemang Badu who has been key for the Black Stars at the tournament.

Alhassan, who plays with Italian side Genoa, has played in the position since the tournament started but has not been too convincing.

Anthony Annan is maintained in the defensive midfield position and he will be partnered by Boateng at the heart of the Black Stars midfield.

Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey who has been criticized in certain quarters is retained as the first choice keeper.

Samuel Inkoom will play at the right-back as he has taken over John Pantsil's place.

The central defence will be manned by towering John Mensah and impressive John Boye while the Inkoom and Addy will be used as the right and left-backs respectively.

Annan will partner Boateng in midfield with Jordan Ayew playing as the right winger with his elder brother Andre on the left.

Asamoah Gyan is maintained as the lead striker with Kwadwo Asamoah playing just behind the Al Ain attacker.
