Ghana midfielder Mohammed Abu returned from injury to help Lorient thrash Brest 4-0 in Ligue 1.

The 21-year-old lasted the entire duration as Les Merlus ran riot on Saturday.

Abu played no part in last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Ajaccio as he was sidelined by injury.

He has however fully recovered to play the full 90 minutes on Saturday.

The Right to Dream Academy graduate only joined the side in January on loan from Spanish club Rayo Vallecano.

And after a slow start to life in France, the Ghana international is now becoming a regular in the starting lineups for Lorient.

Goals from Julien Quercia, Yann Jouffre, Wesley Lautoa and Gilles Sunu proved too strong for the helpless Brest at the Stade Yves Allainmat.

The win now takes Lorient to 8th in Ligue 1 with 43 points.
