"I have been offered the contract by Cesena after my meeting with the club," Appiah told Ghanasoccernet.com.

"I just needed some time to ponder over the deal and its implications on my life and my family.

"I will make a decision soon probably within 24 hours. I am satisfied with what I have seen with the offer."

The proposal provides guanrantees Appiah a one-year contract with an option for the second if they stay in the Italian top flight.

Even though there are some offers from clubs in Germany and Scotland, Ghanasoccernet can exclsively reveal that Appiah wants to stay in Italy.

Cesena coach Ficcadenti Castrocaro is keen on getting Appiah to bolster his squad ahead of the start of the new season.

Appiah played for Bologna last season on a six month deal but after getting clearance from Court of Arbitration for Sport over his dispute with Turkish side Fenerbahce, he is now a free agent.
