Ghana midfielder Bennard Kumordzi made a return from a month injury lay-off to play for KRC Genk in their 0-0 stalemate with Lokeren in the Belgian Pro League on Friday.

The 29-year-old walked straight into Pierre Denier's starting eleven after recovering from a jaw surgery and he lasted until the 79th minute at the Cristal Arena, showing flashes of his brilliance in midfield.

"I played against after recovering from surgery and I'm really happy to be playing again," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Genk were unable to claim the maximum points as Lokeren held them to a draw.

Youngster Eugene Ansah also played 62 minutes.
