Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng praises coach Appiah

Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng has passed a vote of confidence in coach Kwesi Appiah ahead of two 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month.

Appiah was promoted as head coach last month after four years as an assistant coach.

He has begun working with a squad for matches against Lesotho on June 1 in Kumasi and crunch trip to Zambia on June 9.

Boateng, one of the players selected for the two assignments, is backing the former Asante Kotoko player to succeed.

"Kwasi Appiah is a good coach. We have worked with him for a long time, from when he was the team's assistant coach,'' the Dnipro FC midfielder said.

''Now he is the head coach, there is not much of a difference. What we as players have to do is to show discipline and hard work in training to support him.

"With two games ahead of us, everyone is training very hard to ensure selection into the final squad.''
