Ghana midfielder Laryea Kingston says he is in advanced talks to join an unnamed American club in January.

The 31-year-old has not played active club football since leaving Hearts of Oak over a year ago.

The ex Heart of Midlothian player now claims to be nearing a move to an unnamed American club in January with his existing deal with Hearts of Oak set to expire next month.

"I was to join an American club when I left Hearts but they (Hearts) wouldn't release me, there was no understanding at the time," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

"But I have remained in touch with the club and they are still waiting for me to sign.

"So I am sure by next month or so when my contract ends with Hearts I will make the move."

Kingston made his name on the local scene with Hearts of Oak before embarking on an illustrious adventure which took him to Israel, Russia, Scotland and the Netherlands.
