Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso picked up an injury during Rubin Kazan’s 2-1 win over Spartak Moscow but the severity has been played down ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

The 22-year-old was replaced at halftime having picked up the knock in the Russian top flight match.

Wakaso’s injury is however deemed not serious as he took part in the recovery training on Monday.

The ex Espanyol man is expected to make Ghana’s squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

He was therefore taken off as a precautionary measure, Rubin Kazan sources told GHANAsoccernet.com.

The Ghanaian was making his 10th league appearance of the season.

He was however unable to complete the game after picking up the knock.
