Ghana Coach Goran Stevanovic will be inching closer to his final Nations Cup squad after Tuesday's international friendly with Gabon, according to his assistant Akwasi Appiah.

The Black Stars take on next year's tournament's co host at the Stade Muncipal in Paris in the build up to the finals which sees Stevanovic take a closer look at three debutants Charles Takyi, Jeffrey Schulpp and Rashid Sumaila for a place in his final squad. And Akwasi Appiah says Tuesday's game will be the last opportunity to assess players. "This is the last Fifa week that we can assess some players so the coach has taken this opportunity to assess three or four new players," he told Pravda Sports.

"That is the main reason why he tried to get two teams so he will get the opportunity of assessing before thinking of the final 23."

Ghana have been drawn in Group D alongside Botswana, Guinea and Mali and will be based in the Gabonese city of Franceville for the finals in January.
