Ghana debutant David Accam hit a sensational brace in Helsingborg’s 3-1 win over Gefle on Sunday in the Swedish Cup.
The 22-year-old scored in the 17th minute and in injury time respectively to help the Reds progress in the Swedish Cup.
It was the best possible way to sign off from club duties as Accam will be joining the Black Stars team for the first time this week for the crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan.
The Right to Dream Academy graduate’s striking instincts has been sharpened just in time to help Ghana post a resounding win against the Nile Crocodiles in Kumasi on March 24.
The yet-to-be-capped Ghana striker is expected to arrive in the country by Monday night to begin preparations with the Black Stars team on Tuesday.
Accam has already garnered continental experience by playing in this season’s UEFA Champions League and Europa Cup.
Accam will be competing for a starting place next Sunday against three other strikers; Asamoah Gyan, Mahatma Otoo and Abdul Majeed Waris.
