Ghana Women's U20 national team are on the brink of exiting the FIFA World Cup currently ongoing in Costa Rica following a second group game defeat on Sunday.

The Black Princesses suffered a 3-0 defeat to USA in the opening group game last Thursday where they ended the with 10 players after a red card to defender Jacqueline Owusu.

Ghana were beaten 2-0 by Japan in the second group match on Sunday and that could be enough to see the Princesses bow out of the tournament.

Maika Hamano scored twice from the spot in the 62nd and 72nd minutes respectively won the day for the Japanese who have 100% record so far after two games.

Black Princesses have no point in Group D after two round of matches and can only dream of securing a place in the knockout stages by beating Netherlands in the last round.

The Netherlands face USA in the other group game in the round two later today. A win for the Americans in this fixture will confirm Ghana's elimination from the Mundial.
