Ghana goes down into the history books as the venue used to broker the deal which sees the return of Emmanuel Adebayor to the Togo national team.
The decision follows a meeting at the Accra residence on Wednesday nightà à between the 27-year-old and a high powered combined-delegation of the Togolese government and the Togo Football Federation, FTF.
Adebayor announced his decision to retire from international football following a gun attack on the Togolese team at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
And after careful deliberations with top brass Togolese officials at his Trasaco Valley mansion, the Man City player, currently on loan at Tottenham, agreed to return to the national team on condition the FTF runs the team more professionally.
ââ¬ÅTo be honest I donââ¬â¢t think there was a sticking point in taking the decision, it was a quiet difficult moment for everyone not playing for the national team for a year,â⬠Adebayor told MTNFootball.com moments after emerging from the five-hour meeting with smiles.
ââ¬ÅWe all have ups and down in life and it came to a point I couldnââ¬â¢t handle it anymore so I decided to put a full stop on it and I never regretted.
ââ¬ÅAnd now I have told the federation what I want changed in terms of organization, how we travel and where the team stays.
ââ¬ÅWe had a very good meeting today and they seemed very interested in whatever I told them which needed to be improved, so I decided to return.
The former Arsenal and Real Madrid star says the assurance given him by the delegation of improving the organization of the FTF helped in making his decision but would not hesitate to announce his retirement again and this time, for good if they donââ¬â¢t live up to their words.
ââ¬ÅThat is what they said, if they hadnââ¬â¢t given the assurance trust me I wouldnââ¬â¢t have come back.
ââ¬ÅI am someone who speaks my mind and always keep my dignity so I told them what they need to do.
ââ¬ÅOf course I have made my decision to return but trust me I would not hesitate to retire again because my is more important than my career.
ââ¬ÅSo if I feel my life is still in danger then trust me I will put a stop again on my international career but things a looking good now so we see what happens,â⬠he added.
