Ghana Premier League annulled without promotion or demotion
Hearts of Oak played a 1-1 draw with Asante Kotoko at home.

Ghana became the latest African country to cancel their leagues due to the coronavirus crisis on Tuesday.

The country's federation, the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has revealed the league have been cancelled without promoting or relegating any teams.

The decision was arrived at following an executive council meeting on Tuesday June 30, 2020.

The Ghana FA coincidentally took this witty decision to cancel their championship on the same day CAF opted to postpone most of her competitions, cancelling the CAF Awards and Women’s AFCON.

Ghana joins a queue of African countries not to have limped over the finish line with the world under siege from the Covid-19.

Aduana Stars were sitting atop of the standings with 28 points, closely followed by Berukum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko – all of which now counts for nothing.

While those at the top half think and watch with despair, what would have been; Ebusua Dwarfs, Karela United and King Faisal, thank their stars as they all stay afloat.

Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League and AshantiGold at the CAF Confederation Cup.
