The entire Ghana Premier League clubs have thrown their weight behind giants Asante Kotoko following recent chaos in Nsoatre.
A staunch Kotoko fan (Nana Pooley) succumbed to death after being stabbed multiple times in violent altercation in the week 19 encounter between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko.
The match, held at the Nana Koramansah Park ended 1-0 in favour of the Amanaso-based.
At a crunch meeting between the Ghana FA and clubs, the Premier League clubs sympathized with the Porcupine Warriors following the tragic passing of their fan.
Speaking to the media, Edmund Ackah, who is the General Manager of Samartex reiterated that the clubs are determined to help the Ghana FA resolve hooliganism in the game.
“We sympathize with Asante Kotoko. We are ready to support them as Premier League clubs. We are determined to resolve hooliganism at match venues. Most of the things we talked about is already in our regulations but it’s a matter of compliance and the FA need our support to implement them”
Meanwhile, the domestic football governing body (GFA) has announced the suspension of the Ghana Premier League until further notice.
