Ghana Premier League debutants should not be underrated – Berekum Chelsea trainer Samuel Boadu

Head coach of Berekum Chelsea, Samuel Boadu has spoken highly of Ghana Premier League debutants, saying they should not be underrated by any club this season.

Last season, Great Olympics, Bofoakwa Tano and Real Tamale United suffered demotion to the Division ranks following an unimpressive performance.

However, three clubs from the Division One League gain promotion to compete in the Ghanaian top-flight this season. They include Vision FC, Basake Holy Stars and Young Apostles.

Holy Stars and Vision FC started the Premier League season on a good note, recording one win and one draw respectively.

Abdulai Gazale and his charged shockingly defeated Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium in their opening game before sharing the spoils with Dreams FC at home.

Vision FC, on the hand, played out a pulsating goalless draw in their opener against Berekum Chelsea before defeating Accra Lions last Monday.

Meanwhile, Young Apostles are yet to secure their first win of the season after losing one and drawing one in the opening two games.

However, Boadu, who is impressed with the performance of these debutants has cautioned against underestimating them.

“The Ghana Premier League will be very tough this season. Debutants have equally good players and should not be underrated. Clubs that gain promotion to the Premier League augmented their squad with experienced. I believe that this season will not be easy for any of the club” he said.

Berekum Chelsea will not be in action this weekend following the postponement of their game against Nsoatreman FC due to their Africa campaign.

The Nsoatre-based club are currently in Algeria to face CS Constantine in the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round clash.

The Bibires, who finished third last season has not fared bad in the ongoing campaign, accumulating four points from two games.

Chelsea are determined to rub shoulders with their opponents as they chase their second Ghana Premier League title, having last won in 2011.
