Ghana Premier League has fallen drastically – Ex-Hearts of Oak midfielder Francis Joojo Bossman

Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Francis Joojo Bossman has opened up about the state of the Ghana Premier League, saying it has fallen to the lowest level.

Bossman, who is currently pursuing his coaching course in Serbia took the Premier League by storm, emerging as fans favourite during his spell with Hearts of Oak. Before joining the Phobians in 2004, the former midfield enforcer had featured for Berekum Arsenal.

In an interview with Ghanasportspage, Bossman claimed the quality of players in the Ghanaian top-flight has declined drastically, contributing to the low patronage of the Premier League in recent times.

“Truth be told, the Ghana Premier League has fallen drastically. The players are responsible for the low patronage of the league. Their performance are unappealing. The players have failed to win the fans to the stadium as compared to our playing days. The fans have lost interest in the league because of the uninspiring performance of players. Honestly, I won’t rate the league above 20%” he said.

The Ghana Premier League is currently on hold following recent violence incident that saw a staunch Kotoko fan (Nana Pooley) stabbed multiple times to death during an encounter between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko.
