Nations Football Club are getting closer to clinching the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title.

The Ashanti Region-based club secured a massive victory over Legon Cities FC on Monday, May 19, in their Week 31 encounter of the ongoing league campaign.

In the game played at Legon Sports Stadium, Nations FC dominated proceedings and soared to a 4-1 triumph at the end of the contest.

The win keeps Nations FC at the top of the Ghana Premier League standings with 57 points.

Although the team is just one point ahead of Bibiani Gold Stars in second, they are favourites to clinch the title.

Heart of Lions, Asante Kotoko, and Medeama Sporting Club make up the top five and could also win the league title should Nations FC and Gold Stars lose all three remaining matches.

Meanwhile, Legon Cities Football Club have been relegated following Monday’s heavy defeat to Nations Football Club.

The team will compete in the National Division One League during the 2025/26 football season.
