Ghana Premier League Preview: WAFA vs AshantiGold - Miners seeking positive results in Sogakope
WAFA SC

West African Football Academy begin their second round journey of the Ghana Premier League when they host title holders Ashanti Gold SC at the Sogakope Park on Sunday.

The Academy Boys enter the game without their long serving coach John Killa. The Dutchman left the club after six years earlier this month. Assistant coach Akakpo Patron is expected to lead the team on Sunday.

On loan striker Elvis Amoh could spearhead WAFA's attack after top scorer Samuel Tetteh has moved to Austrian top flight side Red Bull Salzburg. Newly signed Richard Lartey might also make his debut if selected on Sunday.

Ashanti Gold SC had a poor run in the first round to keep their title defence alive. They managed only two victories with ten draws but have decided to make amends in the second round starting with a win against WAFA SC.

Suspended duo Kadri Mohammed and Augustine Sefa will not travel with the team to Sogakope. Godfred Rockson is being lined up to replace the suspend Kadri Mohammed in defence.

Ciba Hudu who joined the mining club during the second transfer window from lower tier Sun City FC is in contention to make his first competitive bow on Sunday.

The reverse fixture ended 0-0 at the Len Clay stadium.
