Coach Samuel Boadu has promised not to take his foot off the pedal after guiding Hearts of Oak to the Ghana Premier League crown

“I will make sure I will not be swollen-headed. I will make sure I work extra. This is a motivational cup or winning so it will prepare me to go higher and higher," an excited Boadu told reports on Sunday.

It was after Hearts of Oak secured a 1-1 stalemate against Liberty Professionals, a result that saw them clinch the title.

The draw gave them a four points advantage against Kotoko who suffered defeat in Bechem, with one match to go.

The title success is the first for the club in 12 years. Their unexpected droughted started in 2009 when they clinched their 20th title.

The man who led to end the drought, Boadu has now won his first trophy as a coach.
