Legon Cities goalkeeper William Essu has been named the Goalkeeper of the Month for April, earning recognition for his outstanding performances.
Essu was one of five goalkeepers shortlisted for the prestigious award, alongside Joseph Addo from Aduana FC, Benjamin Asiedu Kwesi of King Faisal FC, Frederick Asare representing Asante Kotoko SC, and Dari Aziz Haruna from Bechem United FC.
The talented shot-stopper, who previously represented Ghana's U20 team, demonstrated his skill and ability by keeping clean sheets in all three matches that his club won during the month of April.
Essu has been instrumental in Legon Cities' fight to avoid relegation in the Ghana Premier League, placing a reputable 10th with 40 points from 30 games.
The Royals will next be in action against Bechem United in round 31 on Saturday.
In recognition of his achievement, Essu will be presented with a pair of goalkeepers gloves and a jersey courtesy of the National Goalkeepers Union.
