Ghana talented youth winger Osman Bukari has vowed to make a bigger impact in Belgium after returning to the country following his deal with Gent.

The speedy star secured a major move in his career on Friday after sealing a bumper deal to join Belgian top-flight side.

The 21-year-old signed the contract after passing a medical to return to the Jupiler League having played for their top-flight rivals Anderlehct two years ago.

Bukari joined the youth side Anderlehct from ambitious Ghanaian second tier side Accra Lions but the lack of playing time at the top level forced him move to Slovakian side Trencin where his potential became clear to several top European clubs.

He played a total of 66 matches for the Slovakian top-flight club and scored 16 goals and gave 25 assists which prompted Gent to swoop to seal the youngster's return to Belgium.

The Ghana U23 star says his first sorjourn in Belgium was not easy but he is confident his talent will be on display at Gent.

"I joined Anderlehct in 2018 and played for the second team. From Anderlehct I went to Slovakia and now I am back again in Belgium," Bukari said at his unveiling on Friday.

"It wasn't easy to come from Africa to make an impact in Europe but I did my best to be at this level. I am very happy to be here and I promise the fans that I will do everything to make them happy."

The Ghana U23 star moves from Slovakian top-flight side Trencin after signing a three-year contract with one of the giants of Belgian football.

He signed the deal in the presence of his agent Oliver Koenig after both parties reached an agreement over the terms of the winger’s contract.

The financial details of the transfer were not revealed and the move ends the midfielder’s two-year stay in Slovakia, where he was one of the top players of the Eastern European league.

The transfer ends the intense speculation about his future on Thursday afternoon when he signed the deal with the UEFA Champions League campaigners.

Gent stole the march on several clubs that were interested in signing the youngster with clubs in Spain, Portugal, Italy and France keen on grabbing the talented player.

But the comprehensive continuous development plan presented by Gent and the playing opportunities to b offered to the tricky player looks to have swayed his decision.

The signing of Bukari is a top acquisition for Gent who were seeking to boost their ranks with super talented players ahead of their participation in major competitions this season.

Bukari’s move from Trencin to Gent represents a major upward move in his career as he will now play in a bigger league where he would continue to hone his career.

The winger was in exceptional form for Trencin as their standout player last season he is regarded as one of the best performers in the Slovakia top-flight.

The Ghana U23 international was named among the best players in the Slovak top-flight league last season after winning eight Man-of-the-Match awards in the league.

The winger, who can also play as a ghost striker, featured in 21 matches last seaosn season in Super Liga, playing a total of 1844 minutes.

Bukari scores an average of 0.34 goals for every 90 minutes he's on the pitch.
