The Referee Association of Ghana have resolved not to officiate second-tier matches at Prestea until their security can be guaranteed.

The home venue of Mine Stars is gradually becoming a notorious ground where match officials have allegedly been subjected to inhumane treatment by irate supporters.

Tarkwa United coach JE Sarpong alleged three weeks ago that his players were subjected to severe beatings by irate fans of Mine Stars during their National Division One League clash.

The centre referee was alleged to have been brutally manhandled by the irritated supporters, which has promted the decision of the unbreally body not to officiate matches at the venue.

“We are not going to officiate matches at Prestea because we believe our security cannot be guaranteed," Referees Association of Ghana secretary Alex Quartey said

“Some of our members have been subjected to inhumane treatment and until authorities do something about it, I’m afraid we will not officiate matches at that venue.

“It has gone on for far too long and we cannot continue to put the lives of our members in danger.”

The Ghana FA recently banned the Techiman Park after disgraceful fans violent.
