Parma have started pre-season without their Ghanaian midfielder Afriyie Acquah, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The youngster has been given few days rest after playing for Ghana at this year’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Manager Roberto Donadoni has called up 29 players for their training session ahead of the new season without his influential midfielder.

Acquah, who enjoyed a fabulous season last term will re-join the group on July 21 alongside Antonio Cassano, Djamel Mesbah and Gabriel Paletta, as well as Antonio Mirante, Alessandro and Stefano Morrone Jacobucci.

Parma has signed the TSG Hoffeinheim player on a second loan deal after he impressed heavily during a one-year loan spell.
