Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien has left the door open to signing permanently for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Essien joined Real on-loan during Friday's transfer deadline day.
The Ghana international has struggled under coachDi Matteo and opted for the move to Real Madrid for more playing time.
This has prompted hopes he could stay with the former Europeans champions at the end of his loan spell.
Regarding his future at the end of the campaign, Essien said: "At the moment I'm only on loan and I'm going to work hard for Real Madrid.
"At the end of the season we'll see what happens."
