Ghana stars Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari won their first ever trophy with AC Milan after helping the Rossoneris stun rivals Juventus to lift the Trofeo TIM Cup on Saturday night.Â
The pair who have both been left out of the Ghana squad for the 2015 AFCON qualifying double-header against Uganda and Togo, walked straight into Filippo Inzaghi's starting line-up and completed the entire duration of the game as Milan whipped Juventus 1-0 in the opening game.
Midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah was left on the Juventus in the loss against Milan.
Milan's triumph in the competition was uncompleted until they handed down a handsome 2-0 defeat to Sassuolo in the final game.
In the Sassuolo squad, was midfielder Raman Chibsah who has been handed a place in Kwesi Appiah's 24-man squad for next month's 2015 AFCON qualifier.
