Ghana striker Charles Takyi has started a trial with German second tier side Energie Cottbus.Â
The Black Stars attacker, who is attempting to a bid to win a contract, started the trial on Tuesday.
Takyi, who is a free agent after being released by St Pauli in the summer, has just 48 hours to impress the coach Rudi Bommer.
Energie's sporting director Christian Beeck says it will be a big bargain if Takyi manages to impress just as Boubacar Sanogo and Steven Rivic have done since joining the club as free agents.
"We have already had good experiences by appointing Boubacar Sanogo and Steven Rivic through this approach (trials)," Energie's sporting director Beeck said.
"If a player of the proven quality of a Charles Takyi is on the market, then we will have to test this option."
Takyi will train with the club until Thursday.
The Ghanaian has played 25 Bungesliga I league games and 93 Bundesliga II match for Fuerth and St. Pauli, scoring a total of 20 goals.
The three-time Ghana international is versatile as he can play as a midfielder and striker.
