Egypt midfielder Gomaa beats Ghana striker Ebenezer Assifuah to CAF U20 Best Player Award

Ghana striker Ebenezer Assifuah was beaten to the 2013 CAF U20 Championship Best Player by Egypt's Saleh Ouda Gomma after Saturday's final in Algeria.

The Liberty Professionals attacker lost out to the talented who scored from the spot in open play and also during the penalty shootouts where the Youn Pharaohs won 5-4.

Assifuah won two Man-of-the-Match awards during the Group stage in matches against Egypt and Algeria.

The striker scored three times as the tournament's second joint top scorer.

Assifuah will now look to playing abroad after excelling in the competition with many European clubs said to be interested in signing him in May.
