Ghana striker Inaki Williams accepts his change in position by Bilbao coach

Ghana striker Inaki Williams is well aware that he will not be the main striker in Athletic Bilbao's lineup this season.

Manager Ernesto Valverde intends to use Williams on the wings, and the former Spain international is unconcerned.

The former Barcelona boss, who joined the club again this summer, prefers Williams on the wings. He excelled in that role during Valverde's first stint.

The 28-year-old has accepted the change and performed admirably in pre-season as either a right or left winger.

"I hadn't played on the wing for a year and a half or two years, but I feel comfortable. Ernesto made me come up and put me in that position.

"I'll try to contribute from that position by breaking away and breaking away. Hopefully, I can improve my numbers from other years," he confirmed.

Williams holds the record for the most consecutive La Liga appearances, with six years without missing a game.

In June, he announced he will play for Ghana, ending his time with the Spanish national team, where he appeared only once.
