Kwesi Appiah has admitted being under during his debut for NorthEast United FC in Indian Super League opener against Mumbai City FC on Saturday.

The 30-year-old poacher joined the Islanders as a free agent after parting ways with English League One outfit AFC Wimbledon in the summer.

He had a debut to cherish at the club after his solo penalty goal secured them the maximum points against Mumbai City.

Appiah confessed that he was under the cosh as he was about to effect the penalty kick.

The striker quickly indicated his desire to add a few more.

“Well, that's just a start and it's a good one for me. My first goal in my first game in India so of course there is pressure the moment we had the penalty and anybody would tell you that but we keep your mind cool and just execute your plan and I'm delighted to get off the mark and it's the first of many I hope."
