Ghana and Lorient striker Abdul-Majeed Waris is a huge doubt for Ghana’s AFCON’s 2017 qualifier against Rwanda next month after injuring his wrist.

Lorient, confirmed on their official website that, the Ghana international will be out of action for close to three weeks after landing awkwardly and twisting his right wrist.

Waris has seen injuries blight a promising career and this latest set-back is set to cost him his place in Coach Avram Grant’s side to play a friendly against Congo early in September and the all-important 2017 AFCON qualifier against Rwanda on the 6th of September.

Waris joined Lorient earlier this summer after an injury plugged spell with Turkish side Trabzonspor.
