Ghana thump Swaziland to go top

Ghana earned a stroll-in-the park 0-3 victory over Swaziland on Sunday afternoon to move to the top of Group I in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Midfielder Andre Ayew was at hand inside the Swazi box to connect Kwadwo Asamoah's cross from the left which was initially missed by Prince Tagoe.

Asamoah wriggled past two marker before curving into the box and sending into a low cross which caused problems to the Shilangu defenders.

Tagoe could have doubled Ghana's lead before but his 44th minute header from a corner-kick smashed the cross-bar and the follow-up by Kevin-Prince Boateng was cleared off the line.

A minute later, Tagoe failed to direct his head inside the Swaziland box with a wayward header.

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac shuffled his cards by introducing Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu to take the place of on-loan AC Milan player Kevin Prince Boateng.

Prince Tagoe shook off his lethargic display in the first half to latched onto an Asamoah Gyan set-up from 20-yards for Ghana's double on 69 minutes.

Right-back Hans Adu-Sarpei in a rare raid upfront netted Ghana's third in the 81st minute after the Swazi defence failed to deal with an innocuous cross.

Rajevac handed teenager Jordan Ayew his first cap by throwing him on for his elder brother Dede.

Samuel Inkoom substituted Asamoah Gyan with five minutes to the end of the match.

Ghana will move to the top of the Group after Sudan recorded a 2-0 win at home against Congo.

The Black Stars will play Sudan next on 10 October at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ghana starting line-up:

Richard Kingson, John Paintsil, Hans Sarpei, Lee Addy, Isaac Vorsah, Anthony Annan, Kevin-Prince Boateng/Agyeman Badu, Dede Ayew/Jordan Ayew, Kwadwo Asamoah, Prince Tagoe, Asamoah Gyan/Samuel Inkoom.
