Ghana coach Charles Akonnor will name his 23-man squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan later this month today.
The Black Stars gaffer will hold a press conference at the Plush Accra City Hotel to announce his squad for the double-header.
The former Ghana international will also defend his selection to the media at today's event.
Akonnor has returned from Europe where he monitored and held meetings with several top Ghanaian players.
It's unclear who will make his squad, but there are suspicions he will hand call-ups to some European-based Ghanaian-born players who have roots with the West African nation.
Anderlecht duo Francis Amuzu and Jeremy Doku- who was wanted by Liverpool last year.
There is some amount of apprehension in the air for some of the established players as it remains unclear if they will form part of Akonnor's plans for the future.
Former captain Asamoah Gyan is unlikely to return to the team after being yanked by former coach Kwesi Appiah.
However, the Ayew brothers - Andre and Jordan as well as Mubarak Wakaso are expected to be part of the new-Black Stars team.
German-based Kasim Nuhu, Reading FC's Andy Yiadom and FC Nordsjaelland's Mohammed Kudus are expected to make the squad.
Manchester United target Mohammed Salisu could also be in the frame to earn his debut call-up while Real Mallorca Baba Iddrisu is also in the hunt to keep his place in the team.
Medeama goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi is the huge favourite to make the squad from the local front as well as Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed.
Circling media reports have claimed not more than five home-based players will make the cut - meaning there could be room for Medeama in-form striker Prince Opoku-Agyemang as well as on loan Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay.
Black Stars will welcome Sudan to the Cape Coast Stadium on March 27 in Group C, while the reverse fixture in Omdurman will be played within three days.
The four-time African champions are currently at the summit of the table with six points from two games played thus far.
Ghana defeated South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe to go top of the group.
