Five prospective Ghana coaches will be shortlisted from the over 120 who have applied for the vacant Black Stars coachââ¬â¢s position.
The lucky five will be invited for an interview with the Ghana Football Association in Accra in December.
The successful candidate will be known after a strenuous process which includes a concrete plan on how Ghana can continue to dominate Africa and improve on the world stage.
The Black Stars have been without a coach since Serbian Milovan Rajevac refused to extend his contract in September.
One hundred and twenty coaches have applied for the post currently being occupied by Akwasi Appiah on caretaker basis.
Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi says five coaches will be shortlisted for the interview to be conducted by the Ghana FA board.
ââ¬ÅWe will shortlist five coaches from the 120 applications we have received so far,â⬠Nyantakyi said.
ââ¬ÅWe need to thoroughly investigate the background of the coach we are considering and that is what we are doing now.
ââ¬ÅThe five coaches will be invited for an interview in Accra and it is from this list that a new coach will be named.
ââ¬ÅWe are doing all of this because we want the best coach for the country and thatââ¬â¢s why we must be meticulous.ââ¬
Some world class coaches including ex-Sevilla and Tottenham boss Juande Ramos, Phil Scolari, Marcel Desailly and several top Serbian coaches have expressed interest in the job.
Rajevac took the inexperienced squad to the final of the African Cup of Nations in January.
Six months later he led the squad to the quarter final of the World Cup in South Africa.
He refused to renew his contract after delays from the Ghana government over approving his new salary and he opted for an offer from Saudi side Al Ahly.
