Ghana U-20 captain Lawrence Lartey says Ghanaians are in for a treat in Saturdayââ¬â¢s African Youth Championship qualifier against Uganda.
The Black Satellites have been unimpressive since winning the U-20 World Cup in 2009 and are currently fighting to regain their spark.
The team will however need to cross the first hurdle in qualification when they play The Hippos in the first leg in Navikubo on Saturday.
And Lartey believes the low expectations of the team following recent poor performances will be wiped out by earning an impressive result away to the Ugandans.
ââ¬ÅI think so far the preparations have been good and it shows in the recent matches we have played,â⬠he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
ââ¬ÅA lot of people donââ¬â¢t have faith in us that we can do something but I am sure with a little bit of luck we will surprise Ghanaians.
ââ¬ÅWe are thinking of qualification so whatever will benefit us over there is what we will be working towards.ââ¬
Ghana will host the Ugandans in the second leg in a fortnight.
The winner of the tie will meet either Morocco or Gambia in the ultimate qualifier for a spot at the finals in Algeria next year.
