Ghana captain Isshaku Konda confident of victory against Algeria in Africa U20 Cup of Nations qualifiers

Ghana U20 captain Isshaku Konda has promised the nation of victory in their Africa U20 Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria on Friday. 

The Black Satellites team arrived in Algiers on Wednesday and were received by Ghana's ambassador to Algeria, Nana Kwasi Arhin.

The game against Algeria is the penultimate stage of the qualifiers with the winner in the two legged affairs progressing to the final stages.

Ahead of the game on Friday, Captain of the side and Wa All Stars defender Isshaku Konda is confident the team will beat their Algerian counterparts.

"We thank you very much for this visit," he promised Ghana's ambassador to Algeria.

"On behalf of my colleagues, we are going to assure you that, In Sha Allah on Friday we will win the match for you.''

Ghana remains the only country from Africa to win the FIFA U-20 World Cup but missed out on the last edition after failing to qualify for the Africa Youth Championship.

Meanwhile, the winner of the tie between Ghana and Algeria will face the victors in the match between Gambia and Benin in the final round of qualifiers.

The Africa Youth Championship for 2019 will be hosted in Niger, and the semifinalist in the competition will automatically qualify for the World Cup.
