Ghana’s women’s U-20 team the Black Princesses have arrived in California to begin their tour of the USA.

A team of 23 players left Accra on Tuesday dawn for a two-week training tour of the US as part of preparations for the World Cup in Japan later this month.

The team have been preparing locally, notably a two legged friendly with their Nigerian counterparts but are looking to step up their preparations with the tour as the tournament draws closer.

Ghana will be making its second consecutive appearance at the finals as one of two teams from Africa with the other team being Nigeria.

The Black Princesses blew away South Africa in the qualifiers to earn qualification and will now be facing Germany, the United States and China in Group D at the finals.

Ghana opens their World Cup account against former champions the US on August 20 in Hiroshima.
