Ghana U-23 defender Kingsley Fobi happy to join Recreativo Granada

Ghana U-23 defender Kignsley Fobi has expressed delight in joining Club Recreativo Granada. 

The 21-year old moves to the Spanish side on a season long loan from relegated Premier League side Watford.

"I could not be happier to sign to Granada and continue my career with a fantastic club that is now my family,' he wrote on Twitter. 

"Granada is a club with rich history and fantastic fans, and I can not wait to step on the field and begin to fight for the badge," he added.

Fobi will spend the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 seasons at the Segunda Division outfit with an option to extend.

The talented right-back spend last season on loan at CD Badajoz also in the Segunda Division where he made 11 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

He began his career at the Right To Dream Academy in Ghana.

From there he went to the lower categories of Granada CF, the parent club of Club Recreativo Granada where he played just one season.

In the last three seasons he has played in SD Formentera, CD Ibiza and Badajoz, all of them in Segunda Division having achieved 58 games, three goals and one assist for a total of 3,701 minutes in the category.

Fobi was part of the Ghana squad for the FIFA U20 World Cup in 2015 in New Zealand and also the U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt last year.
