Ghana U17 coach defends ''age-cheats' Zambia

Ghana Under-17 team head coach Frimpong Manso is refusing to be drawn on reports that his side lost to an over-aged Zambia team in Sunday's African Championship penultimate qualifying round.

The Black Starlets lost 2-1 in Lusaka in the first leg and the local media are claiming the Ghana Football Association are considering protesting the ages of the Junior Chipolopolo.

Manso, an Ex-Ghana defender, is focused on overturning the one-goal deficit and not unsubstantiated reports on age-cheating.

"I don't want to be drawn into such reports because as far as I’m concerned there is no iota of truth in that matter," Manso said.

"We should accept the result and stop these unnecessary reports. In any case how do you determine someone’s age. We should rater concentrate on winning the second leg tie rather than talk about these baseless accusations," he fumed

"Getting a 2-1 score line away is not bad at all and we believe we can turn the game around in two weeks time."

The 2011 African Under-17 Championship will be hosted by Rwanda.
