Ghana U17 to play German side Westphalia today at 4-nation tourney in Nambia

Ghana’s U17 will play German side Westphalia on Wednesday afternoon in their opener at the biennial four-nation tournament in Namibia.

The newly constituted Black Starlets team will play the second match of the day at Swakopmund Sports Complex.

Hosts Namibia will engage South Africa in the tournament’s opener.

“We expect some tough games, especially against Ghana and Westphalia in terms of the physical aspect of the game as well the South Africa who had selected their team from youth teams of Wits, Chiefs, Ajax and other recognized youth academies,” Namibia coach Turipamue Upi said.

Ghana’s next match will be against Namibia and followed by the mouth-watering contest against South Africa on Good Friday.

Saturday will be rest day and on Sunday, the teams will play for third place finish.

The final will be between the top two teams.
