Ghana U20 opponents; Egypt name AYC squad

Ghana’s opponents; Egypt have named their squad for the upcoming African Youth Championships.

The 20-man squad will play a friendly game with Egyptian top flight side ENPPI on Thursday before jetting off to Morocco to finalize their preparations.

“We will travel on Friday to Morocco and will play a friendly match against the DR Congo in their camp on Sunday and then travel to Algeria,” the team’s director Ahmed Fawzy said.

The Baby Pharaohs will open their campaign at the tournament against Ghana on March 16 before facing hosts Algeria and then Benin in the other Group A games.

Egypt will be looking to win their first African U20 title in 10 years in Algeria despite winning it on three occasions.

Hassan Mahmoud, Mahmoud Hamdi, Moassad Awaad.

Defenders

Sherif Adel, Mahmoud Hamed, Ibrahim Hassan, Yaser Ibrahim, Ibrahim Hadaad, Osama Ibrahim.

Midfielders

Mahmoud Hassan, Saleh Gomaa, Rami Hesham, Mahmoud Kahraba, Ahmed Rafaat, Mohammed Sherif, Amir Adel, Mohammed Metwaly.

Attackers

Omar Bassam, Ahmed Samir, Ahmed Hassan Koka.
