Under-pressure Ghana Under-23 coach David Duncan has penned down 14 foreign-based players for Saturday's Olympic qualifier against Sudan in Khartoum.

Graduates of the 2009 Fifa World Youth Championship winning team are expected to be released by their European clubs to overturn a 1-0 deficit.

Andre Ayew, Dominic Adiyiah, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Rabiu Mohammed and Ransford Osei are all expected to join the squad for the game.

Finland-based Quincy Osei has already begun training with team.

The match fixed for 9 April, a non Fifa-free date, could be a hindrance to their being release.

Centre-back Jonathan Mensah has told GHANAsoccernet.com he will plead with his Spanish club to join his international team mates.

Full list of players: Andre Ayew (Olympique Marseille), Saddick Addams (Al Hilal,Libya) Jonathan Mensah (Granada)

Daniel Addo (FC Zorya), Samuel Afum (FC Smouha), Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu (Udinese), Rabiu Mohammed (Evian Thonon Gaillard)

Daniel Opare (Standard Liege), David Addy (Academica ), Opoku Agyemang (Al Ahli, Qatar).

We asked for their inclusion from the beginning but Mr. David Duncan will have non of it. Now you have seen the sense in what we were saying. Why should you wait to put yourself in this situation before calling for help. We are building a team for the future. They graduated from the U17 which Mr. Bashir Hayford begun. Messrs Osam Duodu and Sellas Tetteh strentghen the team by adding and subtracting. They did not disband the entire team. Eventually we won the U20 world cup after placing 4th at the U17 in South Korea. Continuity is the key to success not truncating a process for the sake of pride.

About damn time he( The Coach) saw sense! He tried to be his own man by not calling the foreign based players thinking he can achieve success with the local players but glad lots of people have been in his ear and saw what this means IF he fails! Now let's hope the respective european clubs release the boys to come and overturn the 1-0, WHICH i think they can do it and win 2-0!

Oh Ghana, Ghana !!!! Silas Tetteh wanted this assignment after winning the U20 WC, but Ghanaians let him go. Meanwhile most of his players have been drafted into the senior team, the Black Stars. In Germany, since 2006 WC they have been practicing what Doya, Le Roy and Milo and now Plave have been practicing: continuity of successful policies and careful development and nurturing of their talents. Germany has claimed this philosophy as her own now. Now England are saying they are going to follow "Germans" (ORIGINAL GHANA)philosophy. Africans always pave the way and allow others to adopt this as their own , WHY???. What was Duncan trying to prove ? Was he trying to prove that he can produce better players out of nowhere??? Once again, Why do Ghanaians always throw away their best assets instead of nurturing , developing and ultilizing them to make Ghana proud. WHY ????

this coach is too full of himself. what was the point assembling a new crop of players when we have world champions to choose from? suffice to say some went to play for the black stars most of them were available. i also implore on authorities to pardon ishmeal yartey. this is the time we need him most to come and play for the meteors. he is splendid in the portuguese league at the moment.

We all have our opinions and we are free to express them. Of course nobody is perfect and we should all be prepared to accept whatever mistakes we make. The point I was trying to make here is, about the recent claim of the German Coach that the recent integration of the young players into the German national team to replace the aging ones is new and as such a new strategy in the running of modern day national teams. For the two times that Ghana was at the WC , the Black Stars were the youngest team followed each time by the Germans. Youth development is a wide topic, and I would never dare claim that it has its origen in Ghana. I was refering to something else. If one cares to read my opinion again and well, one would get what I was driving at. Thanks ! By the way can someone explain the phrase "Please shine your eye." for me ?

Hahaha hoolalaa! This stupid coach Duncan is under fire, infact he is soo desperate to turn things around cuz Ghanaians are breathing down his neck.Kwaasia he has now seen the sense in what we were saying, but seriously speaking the Sudanese will be a very hard nut to crack considering the fact that they are playing at home and its very difficult to win especially in this North African countries but if truly the above mentioned foreign based players will be released by their various clubs then we should be able to beat the Sudanese but if not am afraid we're in for an early elimination which will be a big DISASTER for GH football, but then i was expecting this stupid coach to invite Wakaso,Ismael Yartey,Abeiku Quansah and host of other players from the 2009 U20 WC winning squad but he hasn't,i dont even know who why they appointed this yawa coach at the first place Bashiru Hayford for me would have been better than this INCOMPETENT and ARROGANT coach Duncan. This stupid coach and the GFA thought Sudan will be a cool chop so they invited this yawa local players to play, they are overlooking Hearts and Kotoko players all in the name of they're not doing well offlate and inviting shit players from Berekum Chelsea and Medeama SC whose players have nothing good to offer. Please the technical handlers of the various national teams should stop inviting Berekum Chelsea and Medeama SC players cuz they're are bad luck players and have nothing good to offer whenever they're invited for national assignments.I just hope we overturn the 1-0 deficit and probably win by 2 or 3 goals to nil cuz we have the quality to beat them at their own backyard. We're not gonna forgive both the GFA and the coach if we fail to qualify for the Olympics.

i dont think that most of the players will be released since that game is not on a fifa free day. as for ayew, opare n david addy,i dont think their respective clubs will release them becuz they are all regular performers for their clubs n their clubs need them badly.but with ransford osei n sadick adams in the squad,i think they can shock sudan in khartoum. this is one of the many reason i say that our local coaches are capable of nothing.how can duncan call only local players for such an olympic game qualifier? nawaoooo for local COACHES.HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

BLOODCLUT!, BLOODCLUT!!, what is this? it's LONDON 2012 we are talking about here and we are joking like that. Eih Ghana! what at all is wrong with us? The blame is not only to the coach but Kwesi Nyantakyi and his men must also take a chunk of the blame. They shd hav given Silas Tetteh a contract to carry on with the job and build a team for the future. B'cos this is the dream team. This is the team, Nyantakyi's admin. can boast that is their team not the Sulleys,Essiens etc. I don't think i shd be waisting my time writing on this topic,b'cos we shd't hav any problem qualifying with the kind team we hav,but what do we see? Now they have 'got' what ever they wanted from the black stars match so they now hav their minds on the u-23s.we could have had all the players we wanted last 2 weeks, but now the clubs must decide for us.DUNCAN pls be humble a bit

Why do Ghana always shoot themselves in the foot? We have just won the U20 world cup, common sense would suggest that the Olympic team should be based around a core of the U20 team. Also there ought have been some continuity of the coaching set-up, the fault lies with the Ghana FA for appointing inadequate coach, who has proved to be not up to the task.
