Ghana U23 coach invites 14 foreign-based stars for crucial Olympics qualifier

Under-pressure Ghana Under-23 coach David Duncan has penned down 14 foreign-based players for Saturday's Olympic qualifier against Sudan in Khartoum.

Graduates of the 2009 Fifa World Youth Championship winning team are expected to be released by their European clubs to overturn a 1-0 deficit.

Andre Ayew, Dominic Adiyiah, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Rabiu Mohammed and Ransford Osei are all expected to join the squad for the game.

Finland-based Quincy Osei has already begun training with team.

The match fixed for 9 April, a non Fifa-free date, could be a hindrance to their being release.

Centre-back Jonathan Mensah has told GHANAsoccernet.com he will plead with his Spanish club to join his international team mates.
