Ghana Under-23 team have handed late call-ups to locals Nurudeen Ali and Edwin Gyimah to replace injured duo Ben Acheampong and Malik Akowuah for the All Africa Games.

Ali, a striker, scored five goals for dethroned Premier League champions Aduana Stars last season.

He takes the position of newly-signed Kotoko striker Acheampong who is out of the tournament due to a knee injury.

Wa All Stars defender-cum-midfielder Gyimah will snap with AshantiGold's Akowuah who also picked up an injury on their pre-tournament training in South Africa.

Ghana begin their campaign against Senegal in Group B on Monday 5 September in Maputo.
